From early simple paintings consisting of just a few things, Chrutsky comes very fast to quite sizeable still-lifes – paintings with compound composition, uniting a lot of different vegetables, fruits and flowers. Out lookers and professional critics are delighted with these paintings. Their success promoted that the artist repeated some of them with slight changes, adding “new” items, which got in composition the atmosphere of human presence. Academy Counsil marked Chrutsky’s still-lifes: in 1836 he was awarded to the Great Silver Medal.
