Guardi, an Italian painter, became famous not only in Venetia, but all over the Europe as vedutist – the master of 18th century in depicting urbane scenes. With the help of transparent light he imparted a special poetic spirit to topographic views. Guardi’s mastery is huge (more than one thousand pictures). The biggest European and American museums possess his landscapes.
