Gerard Terborch (1617-1681) – Dutch painter, genre-painter, portraitist. Terborch had been written landscapes from 1633 till 1635, and then in 1640 he was fond of genre-painting. After 1660 he wrote most of all portraits, kept his style of genre-painting. His works, created after 1650 signified the beginning of the golden age of Dutch genre painting.
