POLENOV Vasily (1844-1927) – Russian painter, landscape writer, genre painter, an author of paintings on historical themes, scene-painter, architect, illustrator. He took lessons from Chistjakov, attended Jordan’s class in the Art Academy (1863-1871). He became famous for the air landscape filled with the sun – Moscow court yard. From the middle of 1880 he created the images of the nature epic sounding – the Mellow autumn.
