Greuse Jean-Baptiste

Greuze Jean-Baptiste (1725-1805) - French artist.
He studied in Lyons, in 1750 has left it for Paris. He entered in Royal Academy where studied Natuar, but he has not gone under the way of an academic career. G. applied severity and accuracy of his historical pictures to genre painting. To 1780 the painter addressed to portraits. He was admired in Russia and had numerous imitators in France
