Savrasov Aleksey Kondratievich (1830-1897) – Russian artist, landscaper. He studied at the Moscow school of Art, Sculpture and Architecture (1844-1854). In 1848 he took up the regular lessons by K.I. Rabus. In 1854 he was left for Saint-Petersburg in order to create sights of Sergievsk’s – the dacha of the great princess Maria Nikolaevna, the President of the Art Academy. He had been given the academician title for the paintings, created there. He was the founder of Russian lyrical landscape, in such his paintings as “The Rooks Return” – the lyric theme pointed as the basic of art image of nature.
